The Global Fashion Agenda publishes its new goal for 2018: the CEO AGENDA 2018

The topic of sustainability is playing an increasingly central role in the fashion world: The Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), a non-profit organization founded in 2016, annually publishes a concept developed in collaboration with big names such as Kering, H&M, Target, BESTSELLER, Li & Fung, and Sustainable Apparel Coalition to lead the fashion industry in a more sustainable direction – step by step. This year the panel concentrates on how companies are managed in order to ensure long-term support.

“This historic first edition of the CEO Agenda offers clear guidance for company executives on where to begin their sustainability efforts – and how to proceed on their sustainability journey,” states the public wording of the Global Fashion Agenda.

A glimpse at the program shows that the CEO Agenda 2018 consists of two main parts: immediate implementation and long-term fundamental changes in corporate structures. There are three main criteria for immediate implementation:

supply chain traceability
– the efficient use of water, energy, and chemicals
– respectful and safe working conditions

In order to bring about long-term change, however, the focus must be on the following four cornerstones:

– a sustainable mix of materials
– a closed production cycle
– support for better wage systems
– the Fourth Industrial Revolution

A more detailed discussion of the annual goal of the GFA will take place at the Copenhagen Fashion Summit, an annual conference that deals solely with sustainability in the fashion industry. In addition, interesting panel discussions and workshops will be held to delve deeper into the topic and expand the dialogue. It’s a very special place for all those who want to get into the subject more extensively.

We’re excited about the implementation and results of the CEO Agenda 2018 and are already looking forward to the upcoming Copenhagen Fashion Summit 2018, which will take place over the 15th and 16th of May 201
