Alexa Chung launched Virginia, her spring collection 2018 with an amazing lookbook shot by Jessie Jenkins
The British designer creates four seasonal collections per year – unfazed by the traditional fashion cycle, each collection is available as the seasons change. The style icon launched her fourth collection a few days ago. Virginia celebrates art, craftsmanship, and self-expression. After all, it’s inspired by British painters Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell (the sister of Virginia Woolf). Bell and Grant were key players in 20th century painting and members of the Bloomsbury Group, an exclusive group of artists, poets, philosophers, and writers.

The collection is guided by a back and forth between pure comfort and the austere mood of the early 20th century. True to an artist’s way of life, oversized ruffled collars and jacquard pajamas contrast with smock-like dresses, overalls, and denim sprinkled with color.
Jersey t-shirts and sweatshirts are printed with book cover motifs and slogans like “Work of Art” and “Put a Spell on You” – inspired by the literature of the time. In addition to the ready-to-wear pieces, the collection also includes jewelry and shoes.
