HUGO BOSS celebrates the opening of the exhibition An Eames Celebration with an exclusive event in Berlin

When fashion and art say “good evening”… On September 30th, the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein opened An Eames Celebration, a large retrospective dedicated to the impressive works of Charles and Ray Eames. Four separate exhibitions will profile these exceptional artists throughout the various stations of their creative lives, including the fields of furniture, photography, painting, and graphic design as well as screening previously unpublished video works. The project’s main sponsor is German fashion company HUGO BOSS, which kept the title of the exhibition close to its heart and invited 250 guests to celebrate with a cocktail in Berlin.

Big international names including Anja Rubik, Luke Evans, and Daniel Brühl gathered for the occasion alongside Berlin’s art and culture scene at the old pumping station on Hallesches Ufer. The listed building had been the temporary home of the lapidary of the Berlin Senate before being modernized by Christian Boros. It is now used as the office for his art collection.

BOSS launched an accessory collection as part of this rendezvous between two fashion and art institutions. The line consists of a tote bag, a portfolio bag, a card case, and a clutch. Each individual design features a geometric pattern typical of the Eames’ work and is limited to 125 numbered pieces. The collection will be available in the near future via the online store as well as at selected boutiques.

Information related to the exhibition An Eames Celebration can be found on the Vitra Design Museum website here. You can find information and impressions of the limited accessory collection online on the HUGO BOSS website here.
