Erdem x H&M

H&M is collaborating with Erdem this year. The collection will be available from the beginning of November

Erdem stands for romance. Since the beginning of his career, his designs have always revolved around garments that tempt dreams, awaken memories, and tell stories. His shows are among the highlights of London Fashion Week.

“A dreamlike trip to rural England” – that was Erdem Moralioğlu’s vision for this collaboration, which will be available from the 2nd of November. What you’ll see: a mix of feminine dresses, blouses, skirts with floral prints, masculine suits and jackets, but also casual pieces like cable sweaters and hoodies. Elegant silhouettes, playful details, sporty surprises – a dream.

A number of accessories like Mary Janes, sneakers, and small hair clips are also allowed in the countryside. Hard to miss: the great passion for flowers. Florals are found in all of his collections, and some of his famous pieces were also reinterpreted for H&M. The London-based designer also created a men’s collection for the first time for the Swedish fashion chain.

Director Baz Luhrmann was allowed to visualize what just such a trip with Erdem might look like. Films like The Great GatsbyMoulin Rouge and Romeo & Juliet are among those in Luhrmann’s portfolio, and Erdem could have also easily outfitted these productions.

The Secret Life of Flowers is the title of the short film he directed for the designer collaboration. The movie, starring the actors Tom Rhys Harries, Hero Fiennes-Tiffin and Ruby Dagnall as well as models as Imaan Hammam and Saskia de Brauw, plays in a mysterious country house with beautiful chandeliers and a lot of flowers – no matter which season it is, in this house there is always spring.

The collection will be launched on November 2nd and will be available in 220 stores worldwide as well as online here. H&M has also already shared a few glimpses of the collection on its Instagram account (@hm) here
