Layering is the new theme of Miu Miu’s current selection. Veronika Heilbrunner shows how to wear it in the street
Actually, it’s rather my thing to “break down” crazily styled runway looks and make them totally uncomplicated to just throw on. That’s exactly what I was thinking at the start of the SS16 Miu Miu show. So many beautiful ideas in one bunch. Wow. And even my favorite ballerinas and braids. More is nearly impossible. I wanted to wear this look with all it’s wonderful layers.
A small, but not completely incidental detail: I layered in black jeans because the checked shirt as a dress substitute seemed a little fresh to me. Speaking of fresh, the look may be cute, but is completely weatherproof in its own way thanks to an artful excess of clothing pieces. The tulle dress especially is in a class of its own. Nevertheless, I’m excited for it to get warm enough to wear it over a t-shirt and jean shorts or in the evening with a waist slip and bra in an expanse of black. With that kind of combination, something so girly could work even on me.
