Editor’s Pick: Platform Sandals from Gianvito Rossi

Longing for some sun beams on gray and rainy winter days, comes as no surprise, especially when spring comes knocking, but unfortunately doesn’t come in (yet). So, in the meantime I gaze at fall and winter collections, pondering how to survive the next cold spell. From colleagues I hear, meditating is helpful. I, for one get by scrolling through the relevant shops, that is. And I usually tend to get stuck in the same form again: the platform sandal.

Now you could say the heightened sole protects against rain-soaked roads. And when I call to mind the Prada show, then I’d love to combine them with diamond pattern woolen stockings. It is not by chance that these exact sandals made it one my wishlist, after all, Gianvito Rossi is the king of elegant, yet understated sexiness. Still, the main reason is their material!

Cork is perfect for a hot summer on the Riviera and it’s basically one of the few materials that are allowed on board of super chic yachts (contradictory if one remembers its origins: during times of war cork, apart from raffia bast, was the cheapest and most readily available leather substitute). So now, I’m back to daydreaming, which has always been one of my favorite pastimes, with the small difference that I now make it my goal to fulfill them. In other words, my platforms will be balanced with a deep-seated pigtail and a narrow Crochet mini dress and you’ll find me on the dance floor. After all, that’s where these goodies feel most comfortable.
