Shopping List: Christmas Runaround

I owe my own personal way of bringing the many Christmas festivities under one roof to sleek scooters and efficient organization. Starting with cozy mulled wine with friends to large evening dinner parties and in between one or another cookie plates in the office, my contemplative to-do list is filled with getting more gifts, filling advents calendars and baking homemade cookies (sugar and gluten free, of course).

Wrapped up like Santa Claus on his reindeer sleigh, I can easily do up to three Christmas events a day. Because changing outfits takes too much time, I need a look that effortlessly combines everything: On the one hand, it should be able to brave the icy cold, on the other it should be relaxed enough for a Christmas brunch, but of course I also want to be the most sparkling at dinners or parties ornamented with candles.

Here we go:  I started with the first party at Ora in Berlin-Kreuzberg. I have to protect myself against the wind, my allies are black leather gloves from Lacroix and a turtleneck sweater from, Velvet. Over that is the “party layer”: a beautiful jacquard dress from Gucci with frilly beading. Thanks to the midi length, three-quarter sleeves and the retro pattern, this dress is an all around talent that works on any occasion. I’m chic with the turtleneck and my white sneakers from Acne Studios, but not over-dressed for brunch.

Fortified with brioche, I continue to Berlin-Neukoelln to the Alt Rixdorf Christmas market at Richardplatz. My friend has invited me for punch and cookies, it goes without saying they’re organic! As a little present I bring her my favorite picture book Jane & Serge from Taschen Verlag. The previously unpublished photos from family archives take us back to the 70s. And one of the stickers in the book (which comes from the sheet of extra sets included within) finds a place on my scooter.

My last stop is Crackers in Berlin-Mitte. With a mini bag from Anya Hindmarch and the velvet jacket from Thomas Tait, my outfit is suitable for an outing. The jacket brings an element of cool and the metallic threads of my dress reflect the dim light of the restaurant. When dancing on the table after dinner, I simply take off the turtleneck and unbutton the dress a bit. My Ileana Makri Evil Eye ring keeps not only evil at bay, but also ensures that I don’t fall off the table…
