Shop the Look: #allblackeverything

The breakdown of our interests is unmistakable. Julia chases classics, I’m #obsessed. Julia avoids identifying labels, I adorn myself with the code of the season. When it comes to shoes, Julia likes them fine and feminine, I clump around with all the extras. I could go on and on. But to get to the point: Julia is black, I’m not white, rather patterned and colored and shaded and all at once. Regardless, or because I don’t like to follow rules, I’ve wandered into Julia’s territory. Conspicuously.

Instead of running through the Christmas season with glittering cocktail dresses, I like to wear lederhosen. But only as part of a trio with a vest and jacket. I think this mafia-like set from the Ralph Lauren Black Collection is the best with my studded boots from Roger Vivier, as many rings as possible (the initial rings from Chloé are perfect) and definitely without any hand or shoulder bag.

I’ll never give this dream dress from Alexander McQueen back. I want to wear it to breakfast in the mornings – naturally with my rock star sunglasses from Chrome Hearts. (The glass is so light that you don’t even have to take them off on a dark winter day.) My new dress is also quite obviously the perfect companion for every party. I love the Victorian ruffles on the neck and arms. I balance out the transparency with my beloved leather high-tops from Eytys and the little fur-lined bag bySalvatore Ferragamo.

My personal “Catherine-Deneuve-Belle-de-Jour” look is actually rather impractical inside, when, for reasons of temperature, you want to take off the wonderful little 60s coat from Edun, aka the mini-dress. Bare legs are essential for precisely the same reasons. Paired with it are appropriately fine socks and the fantastic polished loafers from the Calvin Klein Collection.

Full of contrasts, yet universally applicable, is my 90s dress by the Calvin Klein Collection. When it gets colder, it also works with a fine turtleneck sweater underneath. Bare legs are again compulsory, because a bit of skin between the hemline and sneakers by Eytys (unfortunately barely visible here) lengthens the silhouette. During the day I like the look best with a big shoulder bag: the Strap You from Fendi (the strap is reminiscent of a guitar strap and is interchangeable).
