Music: Gabriel Schauf for Marfa Journal

Marfa Journal Gabriel Schauf

Marfa Journal is really an art magazine that owes its name to the tiny Texan town that has made a considerable mark on the art world since the sixties. For its third issue, the biannual publication proves its cultural reach with a cover starring Chloe Sevigny—who we haven’t seen in a fashion spread for quite some time—tastefully sprawled in a kitchen with a lobster draped over her private parts.

That alone would have been reason enough to throw a little shindig during Paris Fashion Week. With a good guest list and an off-beat location secured, none other than Gabriel Schauf took over the turn tables. An agent at Art List , Schauf represents photographers like Johan Sandberg and Ward Ivan Rafik. His lovingly compiled playlist, which we’re proud to present here, shows that he also has a sixth sense for the right songs. It’s hardly surprising that a perfect mix of classic tracks like Womak & Womak’s  “Teardrops”, Busta Rhymes’s “I Know What You Want”, and personal favorites like Koudlam’s “See Your All” can make half a work day spent at your desk twice as bearable. Happy Friday, everyone!
