Incredible news! Yesterday morning the Japanese fashion chain Uniqlo proudly announced that there will be a designer collaboration with one of the most inspiring contemporary young designers: There is talk of the Irish designer J.W. Anderson.
We’re allowed to look forward to the coming 2017 fall/winter season, where the new collection – products for both men and women – will be available in Uniqlo’s stores all over the world and online.
What can be expected, is a product range that combines J.W. Anderson’s British heritage – think of duffle coats and fisherman sweaters – with Uniqlo’s aspiration towards everyday comfort and perfection in terms of fit, material, and functionality of its LifeWear concept.
Jonathan Anderson’s explanation for his ambition for the collaboration: “Collaborations in the area of design are incredibly important. Thinking of Uniqlo, I think of things that are perfectly made. The work with Uniqlo is probably a sublime template for democratic fashion, and it’s great that my design will be accessible to anyone, on all different levels.”
Well, good news: Designer clothes will be available at affordable prices pretty soon.
Jonathan Anderson is well-known for his innovative and creative designs – those designs the 32-year-old Northern Ireland-born designer is feted for by the fashion crowd. His own label J.W. Anderson was founded in 2008. At the very beginning he made accessoires only, but soon he’s attracted great attention, he’s made great commercial success, now J.W. Anderson belongs to one of the most futuristic and innovative London brands.
