Monday night, over an intimate dinner with friends, the Rodarte Sisters celebrated the launch of their collaboration with & Other Stories. The guests included Katy Perry, Jemima Kirke, Gia Coppola, Miranda July, Riley Keough among many other talented women. Dakota Fanning hosted the dinner, which took place at the private loft of musician Alpheus Taylor and artist Elliott Hundley – the latter had some of his works on display for decoration, which made for a wonderful visual treat. The culinary delights on the other hand, were provided by chef Corina Weibel of Canelé.
According to Kate and Laura Mulleavy the Co-Lab is inspired by Los Angeles because they both have a deep connection to the city. A collection of 49 pieces of clothing, accessories and jewelry presents the West Coast at its best and features styles that are feminine, yet laid-back. The patchwork-like contrasts in texture and color make for a great 70’s flair. Still, the bohemian elements are topped off with elegant shapes and high quality materials ranging from velvet, suede and mohair to lurex and metallic applications. A high street collection, that seem effortlessly cool, but also covers looks that are glamorous enough for a night out.
Our favorites include up-and-coming actress Zoey Deutch, who combined the sheepskin jacket with a black suede skirt and “Girl in a Band” Kim Gordon, who proved that age is nothing but a number and must not keep you from sporting a silver sequinned dress in your 60’s.
As of tomorrow 17th March, the Co-Lab collection will be available in all participating & Other Stories shops and the online store.
