Chanel organized a very special event to celebrate the Boyfriend Watch and today’s woman: The Coco Club
Chanel‘s Coco Club really had nothing to do with an ordinary fashion party. The heritage label secured one of the most popular spots in New York to celebrate its Boyfriend Watch collection – and opened a one-day pop-up store on November 12th, two days after the exclusive party had taken place. And so the neon pink letters that illuminated the unspoken motto of the evening, “Be a Woman to Watch,” from the wall of The Wing in Soho were virtually omnipresent on social media this weekend.

The French fashion house very deliberately selected The Wing for the event – its style harks back to the classic gentlemen’s clubs established at the end of the 19th century, and thus, during Coco Chanel‘s lifetime. Founded in 2016, this co-working space exclusively for women can hardly save itself from membership enquiries and now has two separate locations in New York. The discreetly masculine flair that the Boyfriend Watch exudes was also reflected in the concept behind the event. Or to quote one of the slogans on a mirror in The Wing: “What’s good for men is even better for women.”

Hanne Gaby Odiele, Sophie Auster, Leigh Lezark, Jacquelyn Jablonski, and Charlotte Groeneveld were alongside many other well-known faces among the guests. The Coco Club‘s facilities included a beauty room full of Chanel products, a Coco Café, and a photo booth. The musical entertainment was provided by Billie Eilish, followed later by DJ Henrietta Tiefenthaler.
