When it comes to online vintage markets, only few sites are as diligently curated as Resee.com. Sofia Bernardin and Sabrina Marshall brought the Paris-based platform to life in 2013 as a means to connect the fashion of the past with the spirit of the present time. As a luxury e-commerce site, it offers collections of a bygone era, classic runway pieces and rare collector’s items, that have been long out of stock.
This month the power duo has something special planned out: they asked contemporary culture and fashion icons to donate from their personal collection for a charity auction to raise awareness for breast cancer. The auctioned money will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, a non profit organisation that promotes breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.
The list of participants, includes fashion veterans and cultural icons, such as Charlotte Gainsbourg, Betty Catroux, Inès de la Fressange, Caroline de Maigret, Lucie de la Falaise or Gabriella Crespi. Among the donated items: a Dolce and Gabbana bag by Kylie Minogue, Carine Roitfeld‘s pledged Prada flame sandals from 2012, as well as a silvery Dries van Noten piece by photographer Cindy Sherman. Furthermore one of fashion history’s most iconic pieces will be up for sale: Claudia Schiffers yellow tweed jacket from her memorable spring/summer 1995 Chanel campaign. If you’re lucky you’ll get to be the successful bidder!
Starting October 15th, the auction pieces will be available on resee.com throughout the week. Happy shopping!
