Gianni Versace Retrospective in Berlin
Erstmals zeigen internationale Sammler ihre Schätze gemeinsam in einer beeindruckenden Ausstellung vom 30.01.2018 bis 13.04.2018 im Kronprinzenpalais in Berlin.
Zur Installation der mehreren hundert Exponate reisen die beteiligten Sammler aus aller Welt nach Berlin. Erstmalig konnte das Kuratorenteam der Ausstellung die vier führenden Sammler gewinnen. Gemeinsam aus Anlass des 40. Jahrestages der Marke Gianni Versace, die nun ihre herausragenden Stücke in einer Ausstellung zeigen.
Die Ausstellungseröffnung ist am Mittwoch, den 31.01.2018 um 10 Uhr.
Net-A-Porter & Mr Porter launch exclusive Balenciaga capsule collection
On January 22nd, Mr Porter and Net-A-Porter will launch an exclusive Balenciaga capsule collection. The launch marks the first time Balenciaga has collaborated on dual women’s and men’s exclusive collections with a retail partner under Creative Director Demna Gvasalia. The campaign is inspired by and features Balenciaga fashions worn in everyday situations. It was shot in the London-based headquarters of Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter.
Balenciaga creative director Demna Gvasalia said of the collection: “The exclusive collection for Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter creates a complete wardrobe of Balenciaga styles known from previous seasons. We have redesigned this selection of styles for women and men in new and special fabrics and dedicated colors.”

UGG collaborates with Paris based Label Y/PROJECT
UGG presents an exclusive collaboration with the avantgarde fashion brand Y/Project, shown for the first time on the catwalk during the Men’s Fashion Week in Paris.
The capsule collection, showcased at both the men’s and women’s PFW shows, celebrates the unquestionable DNA of the UGG brand referencing, sheepskin, the colour chestnut and well known silhouettes. This collaboration heroes the brands most iconic styles, re- interpreted through the Y/Project lens, in a fresh and honest way.
Glenn Martens, Creative Director of Y/Project on the collaboration: “The UGG Classic boot is one of the most recognisable shoes in history. It is a statement.”
The UGG x Y/Project collection is priced between approx. € 250 and € 1.300 will be available for purchase at select retail stores in September 2018.

“Publication #17 features double self-portraits of the japanese artist Fumiko Imano alongside Dutch model Saskia de Brauw. Imano’s practice focuses on self-portraiture. Her Twins series is a reaction to settling in Hitachi, Japan, after spending her childhood in Brazil, London, and Paris. Feeling alone, Imano began to cut and paste 35mm self-portraits to create collages of herself in the company of an imaginary twin sister.” Loewe is entering experimental territory in staging its SS18 collection.

Launched as part of the digital trunk show series, customers can enjoy a 360-degree shopping experience via shoppable video and live social media chat. The 10-piece collection of blazers will launch online in January. Corrada Rodriguez d’Acri, co-founder of Blazé Milano says: “This collection is inspired by the quintessential British character, the colors of its countryside, its earth tones and raw wools. The idea was to create a collection which could be both charming and classic, perfect for the great outdoors and social events in the countryside.”

This January Alexa Chung launches the Fantastic Collection. Drawing upon inspiration from Britpop and the era defining the bands such as Blur, Oasis, and Suede, the collection embodies the spirit of the 90s music scene through an assortment of ready-to-wear apparel, footwear, and jewelry. Now stocked at over 100 global retailers, prices range from £75 for Alexa Chung’s signature tees, £600 for statement dresses, £400 for boots, and up to £1,000 for heavier outwear pieces. Since all the earlier pieces were sold out in no time, it would be advisable not to wait around.
LVMH Award 2018 announces expansion of experts and jury members
Although the award for young designers with potential for international breakthrough will not be given out until June of this year, the panel of 43 expert jury members has already been expanded to include six new names. New on the list: Carmen Busquets, investor in BoF, Farfetch, Net-a-Porter, Lyst, Moda Operandi (Caracas); Amanda Harlech, creative consultant (London); Sara Maino, deputy editor-in-chief of Italian Vogue and Head of Vogue Talents (Milan); Burak Cakmak, dean of fashion at Parsons School of Design (New York); Hans de Foer, director of the postgraduate fashion program at the Institut Français de la Mode (Paris); Fabio Piras, course director at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (London). Applications can be submitted until February 4th via www.lvmhprize.com. The semi-finals for the selection of the first eight finalists will take place on March 1st and 2nd.
