Kate Moss and Mario Sorrenti hosted the “Obsessed by Calvin Klein” fragrance launch event in London, including guests like Winnie Harlow and Brooklyn Beckham
Calvin Klein threw a cocktail party in London on Thursday night to celebrate the launch of Obsessed by Calvin Klein – the brand’s newest fragrance and campaign. Italian photographer and director Mario Sorrenti, who shot the campaign, hosted yesterday’s event alongside British supermodel – and face of the project – Kate Moss. The campaign is designed to spark the idea of memory, mixing past love with today’s iconography.
Obsessed is the re-invention of an iconic Calvin Klein fragrance, Obsession. Originally launched in 1985, Obsession was reignited in 1993 with an ad campaign shot by Mario Sorrenti starring Kate Moss, who back then was his girlfriend and his muse. Today, as the legendary campaign approaches its 25th anniversary, the Obsessed campaign uses outtakes from Obsession’s 1993 campaign with Kate Moss, where she was photographed both semi-naked and topless.
“I still love her, but more like a sister I think,” Sorrenti swooned over Moss. “It was great working on the campaign now. We looked through old images and revisited the pictures. We took ones that we didn’t use, re-edited them and figured out a new way to display them again.”
The event’s guests discovered an enfolding and classy exhibition of Mario Sorrenti’s iconic images at Spencer House in London. Other notable guests included Winnie Harlow, Brooklyn Beckham, Elizabeth Jane Bishop, Ella Richards, Pernille Teisbaek, and Pandora Sykes.
