Calvin Klein under Raf Simons is following a bold new brand direction. Calvin Klein Underwear has just released its spring/summer 2017 campaign. All images were captured by popular director Sofia Coppola and feature a handpicked cast of actresses in images reduced to the essential.
Kirsten Dunst, icon Lauren Hutton, Rashida Jones (“Parks and Recreation“), Maya Hawke (yes, daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke), Nathalie Love (played in Sofia Coppola’s “Somewhere” in 2010), Laura Harrier (will play in “Spider-Man: Homecoming” this summer) and Chase Sui Wonder (niece of Chase Sui Wonder) appear in the black and white shots.

Lauren Hutton – actress, model and admired by all of us – is enjoying her comeback season. After walking the Bottega Veneta runway debut at Milan Fashion Week arm-in-arm with Gigi Hadid back in September, she now is the star of Calvin Klein’s Underwear Spring 2017 campaign.
“I just put together some of my favorite girls”, director Coppola confessed, “and I thought it was so cool to see women from 18 to 70 in this playful, sexy way.” In addition to the print advertisements, the campaign also includes a series of short films where each actress reveals and gives insight into a downright female world.
“I wanted young women to have something that treated them with respect and understanding.”, Coppola said. It is with exactly the same mission and style that Coppola has created this new Calvin Klein underwear campaign celebrating women. “I just love Calvin Klein’s whole very American idea of women – and men, too.”, she added. Not only is Calvin Klein delighted with Sofia Coppola’s talent but also Cartier: For the relaunch of the highly coveted Panthère watch they whipped up her support and Coppola will be responsible for the luxury brand’s new trailer for Panthère.
