Veronika Heilbrunner On The Road: Cannes 2017 & London

For a whole week long Veronika Heilbrunner gave us a peek into her life and took us along to London for Tory Burch and David Hockney and onto a yacht in the Côte d’Azur

The trip began by strapping on my digital camera, newly purchased for exactly this purpose – as well as a “fancy” strap to do that strapping on with, of course. That all of these fantastic things and unbelievable trips aren’t everyday routine, of that I was perfectly aware. And that’s exactly why Julia and I wanted to capture everything that I experienced as best as possible. Because I’m often traveling alone and not necessarily the biggest fan of forcing perfect strangers to take my picture, I bought a tripod at the same time and, for starters, spent a whole night installing the camera controls over my smartphone. Funnily enough, my conclusion is that I actually like the photos in which not a single human soul is to be seen the most of all.

And now finally to get to the point for everyone who would like more details about how things got so crazy with my geotags on Instagram.

The Calm Before the Storm

My week, or rather my weekend, started at home. Since I’m unfortunately rarely in Berlin, my schedule is always correspondingly packed…my colleagues are aware of that already and know that my riding lessons are part of my personal “recharging program” and should only be postponed in the case of serious bottlenecking. Once I start grooming my horse, I forget everything else and my brain can concentrate on just one thing for a change.

Time for Tory!

It was direct to London on Monday morning to meet Tory Burch on the occasion of her store opening on Regent Street and the dinner that followed.

Museum Day

It’s hard to believe, but there was already another chic event and dinner waiting on my appointment calendar for day two. This time mytheresa.com was hosting in honor of Sandra Choi, the Creative Director of Jimmy Choo. The location is sensational – a church that had been converted into a “garden museum.”

Luckily I got up ultra-early (by my standards) and could take care of the important things in the morning: answering urgent emails, coordinating social media posts, packing again, and checking out of the hotel – even checking out gets exhausting when it’s on your daily to-do list. As a result, I carved out the time to finally be able to see the David Hockney exhibition at the Tate Britain.

Diamonds & The Beguiled

Day three, on the other hand, begins with an early call time on the Côte d’Azur for my first “red carpet moment” at the Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of Sofia Coppola’s film The Beguiled. In contrast, selecting my jewelry proves to be an extremely tricky job since the “games” are coming to an end and my jeweler of my choice – Chopard – has already provided a number of superstars like Rihanna, Marion Cotillard, Julianne Moore, and Kendall Jenner with pieces and therefore is also selling directly to customers.

Holiday

Lucky that Thursday was a holiday and my best friend was anchored with her boat in Juan-les-Pins. I packed up my little suitcase on the spot, moved onto sailing yacht A, and had a break from social media.

After two nights in paradise, a children’s birthday party with unicorns (aka ponies), feeding chickens, and the Alain Ducasse dinner, it was back home and back to “normalcy.” For a whole 19 hours. To immediately re-pack for my next adventure.
