Editor Oriane picks her favorite new takes on a South of France classic: the straw bags
Classic straw bags from markets in the South of France have been part of my daily life since, basically, forever. I use them when I carry my yoga outfits, when I bring my lunch to the office, when I go to the park, or when I go grocery shopping. In other words: every single situation that isn’t going to the beach! I have always been a major fan of this summer item – I own 5! – so imagine how happy I was when so many new labels started popping up recently and creating innovative new designs. Smaller and trendier than the timeless classic, in colors, with pom-poms, or with crossbody straps – the new options are endless! My current favorites are from Cult Gaia, Heimat Atlantica, and Toino Abel. And believe me, they will be at my side even after summer ends.
French and Swiss, Oriane moved to Berlin to pursue her interest in all things creative. She loves art and photography and does a lot of yoga, also to balance out her passion for great cuisine - a real foodie so to say. And of course, she is obsessed with fashion, which you can tell from her weakness for peplum cuts and ruffles. At hey woman! Oriane is responsible for shooting, producing and styling as well as editing and collage design.
