Chokers are back and classier than ever before. Fashion editor Oriane put together her top favorite styles
Who doesn’t remember those tattoo-style choker necklaces? So popular in the 90s, they were worn by all of our favorite celebrities: Victoria Beckham when she was still “Posh Spice,” a very young Natalie Portman in The Professional, and, of course, the legendary Olsen twins before they became the queens of monochrome and minimalism. Elastic chokers were the most-wanted things in the 90s and – like everything in fashion – a few months later they were gone, and regrettable choice in all those family pictures on your parents’ walls.
Now it’s time to dig back into that pink Polly Pocket jewelry box of your teens – chokers have been making a major comeback over the last year and are losing their casual and rebellious collier-de-chien look to become a much classier and elegance accessory than they once were.
From a classic reinterpretation of the tattoo-style elastic choker by Acne Studios to a velvet fine jewelry creation by Anissa Kermiche, the options are endless and picking only one is almost a heresy!
