Veronika Heilbrunner combines a high-slit skirt by Altuzarra with her favorite sweater from 032c and cowboy boots – because on bad days, a good outfit helps
Whoever’s gotten up on the wrong side of the bed surely knows this thought: “today, the only thing that can save me is my lucky sweater!” And then after checking your calendar and realizing that you’ve got a big day ahead, the thought that your magic cowboy boots are going to have to complete the ensemble…
Whatever, for those kind of days (like these that Phil Oh aka Mr Street Peeper kindly recorded for American Vogue) I have a special recipe called “Angelina’s Right Leg”! (Of course, we’re remembering the 2012 Oscars and Angie’s great feats of acrobatics in her high-slit black dress!) In any case, I’ve taken the concept and made it work for everyday – and a knee-length skirt like this treasure by Altuzarra is ideal for it because it’s skillfully slit.
The secret: no matter how high the slit, you can’t feel naked. And that works when the skirt plays around your hips a bit and is neither cut too wide nor too narrow on the leg. In the winter, tights help keep away the cold and the light long sleeve shirt can of course be swapped for a hoodie (definitely by 032c!).
That completes a look that says: “I’m laid back because I also take the train at rush hour and my cold-pressed green juice tastes best with a croissant or maybe even better with a shot of vodka when it’s finally hit cocktail-o’clock” or maybe because the meeting went better than you could have hoped for that morning. Cheers!
