Finally! The Prada Ready-to-Wear Collection is available online: Mytheresa and Net-A-Porter are the lucky shops
The mere fact that Prada is now available online is a silent revolution in itself. Shoes, bags, and jewelry – including sought-after accessories from the runway shows – have been available for a while through their own website. And until now, other online retailers could only offer licensed sunglasses for sale.
So I’m even more excited that last week two luxury shopping portals – Net-A-Porter and Mytheresa – launched the Fall/Winter Ready-to-Wear Collection that was shown in Milan back in February. Less surprising is that “The Kiss” shirt by Christophe Chemin for Prada immediately sold out on Mytheresa. And the fact that an opossum and marmot fur coat was also almost immediately out of stock explains it in the simplest of terms: Prada fans around the world had waited and longed to finally have easy access to very special key pieces.
I basically added everything to my wish list, from brocade shirts to the Cahier Bag all the way to the velvet sandals. On Friday early morning, Julia sent me a link to probably the best black coat ever. So, we’re all happy, and especially because it’s one of the best Prada collections in some time. That even Munich-based retailer Mytheresa had the foresight to shoot the fantastic Alexa Chung in opulent it-pieces and use those push the message on Instagram can only mean one thing: here, it was really understood that even the highest instance of a so-far untouchable fashion sovereign wants to keep up with the times. Where the change may be coming from, Imran Amed explained precisely. We’re excited to see where it goes. And as for myself, I’m going to need to be a little quicker in making up my mind as to whether or not the denim corsage will be an investment for my personal archive!
