Veronika Heilbrunner chooses a bikini by Eres as her editor’s pick of the week, making catching some rays even more fun
This year is definitely one that I won’t forgot so quickly. Normally, that’s something you can ponder wonderfully during a summer holiday, but that’s exactly what I’m not going to do, at least not the way that everyone expects.
To mark it down quickly, above all things are moving ahead and there’s something powerful going on! That’s why instead of a big, long relaxing holiday, I’m taking a lot of little trips on which I happily have one or two days to hang around and at least have time to get a little taste for the place, or simply just linger around the breakfast buffet.
Why a bikini, then? Maybe our followers can remember the first hour of my Ode to a Balcony? That’s where I’ll be recharging my sun batteries. Because our wonderful balcony (which I also took this photo on…it’s served already many times as our hey woman! photo studio) unfortunately only gets sun until midday, I happily intensify that. Julia might call it prioritizing.
Point One: The equipment for a good result
The bikini is the alpha and the omega. And in this case I also prefer less fabric, so that tan lines can be kept as small as possible. And yes – while we’re on the topic, in my opinion the best are the ones left behind by the classic triangle bikini. And it’s exactly those that no one does better than Eres. While the straps are usually tied around the neck, here they’re fastened like a bra, which I think provides for a nicer form.
In addition, my equipment consists of tanning oil from Santa Maria Novella, which I also can enjoy the most alone on my balcony, since friends will shake their finger because there’s no sun protection in it. For me it works, but admittedly only when you limit your sun to a maximum of one or two hours. Also due to the tinted oil, it’s especially important that your bikini is black.

Point Two: The fun of the thing itself
Whoever’s read through point one might might think I’m a solarium junky and always darkly tanned. Apparently I’m not, but nonetheless I have to confess that lying in the sun and enjoying the coziness of those warming rays is definitely one of my favorite hobbies (next to visiting gothic churches and riding at a pony farm). What contributes to it even more is:

Point Three: The ingredients
My favorite book at the moment (unfortunately still The Little Friend by Donna Tartt…unfortunately an hour doesn’t get you so far), a bad internet connection (very important for not using your smartphone), and a good amount to eat and drink are just part of the balcony experince for me. In my case, I eat my whole breakfast here.
I hardly need to list the benefits of this procedure. Except, that (it’s already gotten to be 10pm while I was here writing) I need to go straight to bed so that I can savor it all. And don’t worry, Capri – we’ll see each other next year!
