For the next few days I’ve relocated my office to the coast of southern France. A typical day goes as follows: I wake up in the morning, open my laptop and drink a café au lait which is accompanied by a croissant with both marmalade AND butter. Now that’s what I call a guilty pleasure. After answering the day’s first few emails I cool off by hoping into the water. Naturally, there is no air conditioning here—first world problems. My pink, scallop-edged swimming suit makes me feel like BB (Brigitte Bardot) and once I’m back on dry land I I throw a suede skirt by Calvin Klein Collections over it. Because of the heat and despite the heavy breakfast I swim often throughout the morning. After a work out overload it’s time for lunch and I grab The Row’s Flap Bag while a pair of Prada sunglasses hide my increasingly tired eyes. The afternoon is spent in the shade, reading my new favorite book “The beautifull Fall” by Alicica Drake until it’s late enough for my favorite time of day: the aperitif. My hard won summer glow is enhanced by a bronzer, my current favorite is by Kevyn Aucoin, that emphasizes my sun kissed contours. A quick swipe of mascara is all I need in the make up department. Bottega Veneta’s cardigan is perfect for unexpected cooler nights, the soft silk wraps itself around my shoulders and feels like a precious book cover. This might just be the most elegant protection against hungry mosquitos that are just waiting to attack me. And, just as a talisman should, Cartier’s malachite charm is always on me and accompanies me from day to night.
