When I arrived in New York City last week and had practically brought Berlin’s non-stop rain with me, my mood was accordingly. I had been so looking forward to the hot days I would have spent with an ice-cold almond latte in the shades of skyscrapers. The rainbow through the raindrops of this story is that the fantastic NikeLab x sacai collaboration is going into a second round. Let the photographs by Vera Comploj speak for themselves – weather is irrelevant with these pieces.
The bright-white tracksuit ( NikeLab x sacai Tech Fleece Pants & NikeLab x sacai Tech Fleece Crew ) is pure happiness. Early in the morning ( thanks to the time difference ) having my first coffee I feel somehow kind of Drake on a cloud. The back piece with an integrated lingerie detail is typical for Sacai.
In the fleece dress ( NikeLab x sacai Tech Fleece Dress ) with knee-length socks ( Nike Park IV ) and neon-colored Air Max 90 ( NikeLab x sacai Air Max 90 ) that shine right through the rain, I walk from Soho to the Meatpacking Area and take a look at the new Whitney.
Of course, only white sneakers really work in combination with the suit ( NikeLab x sacai Tech FleecePants & NikeLab x sacai Tech Fleece Crew ). The new version of the Dunk Lux ( NikeLab x sacai Dunk Lux ) is without laces and with neon lining.
Nothing is more fun than walk through empty streets in the morning. My mission: one of the 25 Juice Press stores in Manhattan with the best selection of cold-pressed juices and raw organic snacks.
After teaming up once before in spring 2015, the NikeLab x sacai collaboration is now going into a second round. Sacai Creative Director Chitose Abe gives Nike signature pieces new life by focusing on new structures and unusual combinations, as known from her runway designs, and takes inspiration from classic menswear silhouettes to transform these into feminine sportswear.
The NikeLab x sacai collection is available online today via Nike.com/Nikelab and at selected NikeLab locations worldwide.
With kind support of the Soho Grand Hotel New York selected pictures taken at the Clubroom.
