Let’s put it like this, the Internet isn’t’ the most democratic of spaces; here considered aesthetics don’t always win. This is especially the case with social platforms like Instagram, which promise instantaneous fluid content which can be generated and shared just about anywhere. More traditional content with text and meaning doesn’t always seem to trigger the level of likes that the selfie does. And quite often I find myself tired of the usual banalities that often come from this frivolous stream of images. An exception to this is Maja Wyh, she masters the balance between the immediacy of a fashion blog and the polished like quality of a magazine.
Maja’s feed offers a look at key seasonal pieces, put together in an original stylish way, which sit alongside vintage items and items from little known but beautiful brands. Her collages and snippets of things that inspire her, complement her outfit images perfectly; there is depth to her content, which is hugely refreshing in the otherwise disposable world of Instagram.
